Finding the dolphin.
Work-in-progress views show the shaped silhouette and the depth still being carved from the blank. The finished photograph shows the grain and natural crack left in the wood.
A fish, hollowed out.
The body becomes a bowl, with carved fins and a tail around its edge. The earlier photograph shows the outline drawn on the wooden blank.
A slender silhouette.
A deer reduced to a long, narrow form. Beside it: the chisel, file, sandpaper and wood used for handwork.
A wheeled figure.
A small assembly of wooden pieces and wheels.
